Hollywood was shocked on September 29, 2025, when news broke that Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban had separated after 19 years of marriage. But according to close friends, the split wasn’t a surprise. People close to the couple say they saw it coming. Some even called it “inevitable.”
Nicole Kidman, 58, and Keith Urban, 57, got married in 2006. They have two daughters—Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14. The couple had been living apart for some time before the news became public. Sources say Keith quietly moved into his own place in Nashville. That move made many in his circle feel the end was near.
“They’ve been living separately for a while now,” one insider told People. “Once Keith got his own place, it felt like the writing was on the wall.” Friends of Keith believed the split was bound to happen. Their lives were moving in different directions2.
Nicole and Keith were last seen together in June 2025. They attended the FIFA Club World Cup match in Nashville. Just days later, Nicole posted a sweet anniversary message on Instagram. Despite their love story, things changed. Nicole’s career has been booming. She took on bold roles in films like Babygirl and A Family Affair. Some insiders say Keith struggled with her racy scenes. In July, he even hung up on a radio show after being asked about one of her roles.
