The latest episode of Below Deck Mediterranean Season 10 aired on Monday, September 29, 2025. It featured a deeply emotional moment from one of the new cast members. Victoria SanJuan, a steward on the show, opened up about a personal tragedy that changed her life forever.

During a conversation with Chief Stew Aesha Scott and fellow stew Kizzi Kitchener, Victoria shared that she is single. But her story is not about a breakup. It’s about loss. “Technically I am single. But mine is very tragic,” she said. She revealed that her boyfriend passed away eleven months ago. The heartbreaking part—he died on her birthday.

Victoria’s boyfriend, Bon, was a dive instructor. He drowned during a vacation. She described the incident as a “mystery.” Bon was an experienced diver, which made the accident even more confusing and painful. “He was a dive instructor at the time, and I had a whole romance with him. We did everything together,” Victoria said in her confessional.

She met Bon while trying to get her dive certification. Their relationship blossomed quickly. They spent a lot of time together and shared many adventures. “It was beautiful,” she said. But the sudden loss left her devastated. “Losing someone I love so much, your heart physically hurts. The first two months I was, like, brain dead,” she added.

Victoria’s grief was so deep that she gave up scuba diving. “I just couldn’t do it,” she confessed. The water, once a place of joy, became a painful reminder of what she lost.

Aesha Scott, who listened to Victoria’s story, was moved by her strength. In an interview with Us Weekly, Aesha said, “She is such an incredible human. If the love of my life died a year prior, who knows how long it would take me to get back to work.” Aesha praised Victoria for joining the show despite her pain. She said it was brave to take on such a demanding job while still healing.

The show’s producers have made it clear that this season will focus on real-life struggles. Aesha mentioned that viewers will relate to Victoria’s story. “There are people at home that will watch that and be like, ‘Oh my god, I had my partner pass away,’” she said. The emotional depth of this season is expected to connect with many fans.

Victoria’s story is not just about loss. It’s about resilience. She chose to move forward, even when it hurt. Her honesty and vulnerability touched her crew members and viewers alike.

Season 10 of Below Deck Mediterranean features a mix of returning and new crew members. Alongside Victoria, the team includes Captain Sandy Yawn, Aesha Scott, bosun Nathan Gallager, chef Josh Bingham, stews Kizzi Kitchener and Victoria, and deckhands Christian Trimino and Tessa Budd2.

Victoria’s journey is a reminder that behind the glamour of reality TV, there are real people with real stories. Her courage to speak about her loss may help others feel less alone. As the season continues, viewers will likely see more of her strength and growth.
